The company founded in Osaka dates back to the time of the industrial revolution when many technical developments took place which even today are still having an influence on our lives. While Rudolf Diesel was taking out a patent for the diesel engine in Germany back in 1892, Gonshiro Kubota founded the Kubota company in Japan in 1890.
In the beginning, the company concentrated on cast iron tubes whereas in 1922, Kubota presented its first kerosene driven engine. However, foundry technology is still one of the key areas of Kubota: All crankcases and cylinder heads used for engine construction have been manufactured in the Kubota foundry. Here, real experts are striving to convert the constantly changing new challenges regarding foundry technology set by the engine designers into complex castings with constantly high quality and precision even in large-batch production and they are doing this with sustained success.
In the middle of the '40s, Kubota extended its range by agricultural machinery. Construction machinery, tractors, combines, mini excavators and incinerator plants followed successively. Finally, the Kubota group completed its offer portfolio by the following sectors: generators, drinking water treatment, water pumps and recycling.
